Trippie Redd — LIFE’S A TRIP Album Review
As an artist who makes new music constantly, Trippie Redd keeps changing his music with each project. LIFE’S A TRIP is the album that gave his breakthrough in the industry. Some of his most famous songs, such as “Taking A Walk” and “Dark Night Dumo”, are in this album.
“Together”, the opening song, is way too emotional for Trippie. However, this type of soft music becomes more appearent with his music. Trippie shows his melodic side harmonized with his aggressive style on the album.
The song order does not do the listeners any justice though. I feel like they could’ve been in a better order. That is why the album is like a rollercoaster since the mood changes with each song.
I think the reason why the album is named “LIFE’S A TRIP” is because of the different styles throughout the project.
You would be listening to the most emotional song and it switches to some of the most aggressive music. With its ups and downs, it really is a trip.
Even though the album is full of mixed emotions, Trippie delivers it with each song. There is not a single skip on the album.
Although this is his debut album, it does not feel like one. This, however, could be because of his SoundCloud projects he dropped consistently for years.
LIFE’S A TRIP is a mixed group of art pieces throughout an album. He manages to show off his every single skill with this project. Props.
Pros:
- Versatile and consistent
- No skips indeed.
- Too good for its time.
Cons:
- The lyricism is a little sloppy.
- Too random with the song orders.
